Greeting & Confirm Time
You: Good afternoon, this is [Keith] with My Wellness Physicians. May I speak with [name]? … I'm calling you back about the weight loss inquiry you sent us. Is this still a good time to talk for a few minutes?
2
How They Found Us & What's Going On
You: First, how did you hear about us? And tell me — what's been on your mind that made you reach out about weight loss?
3
Quick Screening
You: If you don't mind a few quick questions — these help Dr. Cruz prepare so you get the most out of your visit. Your height and weight? Any medications you're on?

Explain the Program
You: Let me walk you through what working with Dr. Cruz actually looks like — because it's very different from a website that mails you a pen.
Before the visit
- We send an intake packet to complete ahead of time so Dr. Cruz can review your history before you arrive.
- Bring any recent bloodwork or records from a past provider — even a summary helps.
The consultation with Dr. Cruz
- A full hour — detailed history, exam, and a real conversation about your goals.
- Double board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine, 20+ years of experience.
- We're at the Village at Leesburg, near Wegmans — My Wellness Physicians.
The whole-person approach
- Comprehensive labs — metabolic panel, thyroid, hormones, HOMA-IR, lipids, inflammatory markers as indicated.
- We connect your weight to hormones, insulin resistance, muscle mass, sleep, and stress — not just the number on the scale.
- GLP-1 medication when it's clinically appropriate — it's one tool inside a full plan, not a magic fix.
- Referrals when they help: dietitian (Allison Tepper), DEXA body composition (NSMI), and more.
Care between visits
- Monthly follow-ups, plus support if a side effect or question comes up mid-month — you're never on your own.
- Telemedicine follow-ups available for Virginia residents when clinically appropriate.

What to bring
- Any bloodwork from within the past year.

Objection responses (tap to expand)
"Does my insurance cover this?"
We're concierge and out-of-network — that's what lets Dr. Cruz order the right labs and spend a full hour with you. After your visit we give you a detailed superbill to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement (varies by plan), and we accept HSA, FSA, and CareCredit.
"It sounds expensive."
I'll be transparent — there's a fit for most budgets. If you just want to meet Dr. Cruz, a consultation is $400, or $700 with full labs. If you want the full program, the membership bundles your consult, labs, medication, and monthly follow-ups — semaglutide starts at $600 the first month then $475, tirzepatide $700 then $575. Compared to paying separately for a doctor, labs, and compounded medication, it's very fair for physician-led care — and CareCredit can spread it out.
"I'm already on a GLP-1 — why see Dr. Cruz?"
That's exactly who benefits most. Plateaus, side effects, insurance changes happen constantly. We look at the whole picture — hormones, insulin resistance, thyroid, muscle, sleep. The GLP-1 is one tool; Dr. Cruz figures out why the scale stopped moving and what to do about it.
"Is this just compounded sema like everyone else?"
The medication is part of it — but the difference is who's behind it. You work directly with Dr. Cruz, double board-certified, 20+ years' experience. Real labs, a real physician monitoring you, a plan built around your body — not a website that mails you a pen and disappears.
