Explain the Program
You: Let me walk you through what working with Dr. Cruz on testosterone actually looks like — because it's very different from an online TRT mill.
Before the visit
- We send an intake packet to complete ahead of time so Dr. Cruz can review your history before you arrive.
- Bring any recent bloodwork or testosterone panels from a past provider — even a summary helps.
The consultation with Dr. Cruz
- A full hour — detailed history, symptom review, and a real conversation about your goals, risk factors, and fertility plans.
- Double board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine, 20+ years of experience.
- We're at the Village at Leesburg, near Wegmans and right next to AT&T — My Wellness Physicians.
The whole-person approach
- Baseline labs — total and free testosterone, SHBG, LH/FSH, estradiol, PSA, CBC/hematocrit, thyroid, and metabolic markers as indicated.
- We look at the full picture — not just a testosterone number in isolation.
- Testosterone dosed and delivered the way that fits you — injection, cream, or pellet — when clinically appropriate.
- Fertility-preserving options (like enclomiphene or hCG) discussed when having children is a priority.
- Referrals when they help — urology, sleep studies, or other specialists as needed.
Care between visits
- Follow-up labs and dose adjustments on a schedule, including hematocrit and PSA monitoring, plus support if a side effect or question comes up mid-cycle.
- Telemedicine follow-ups available for Virginia residents when clinically appropriate.

"Does my insurance cover this?"
We're concierge and out-of-network — that's what lets Dr. Cruz order the right labs and spend a full hour with you. After your visit we give you a detailed superbill to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement (varies by plan), and we accept HSA, FSA, and CareCredit.
"It sounds expensive."
I'll be transparent — the first step is a TRT Initial Consultation with comprehensive labs, which is $600. That covers Dr. Cruz's full evaluation and your baseline labs. If TRT is a good fit, ongoing care is $550 a quarter, and that includes your follow-up visits, labs, and medication — not just the office visit. CareCredit is available if you'd like to spread out payment.
"I'm already on testosterone — why see Dr. Cruz?"
That's exactly who benefits most. Doses that were never adjusted, hematocrit or PSA that were never checked, symptoms that never fully resolved — that's common with online-only TRT clinics. Dr. Cruz looks at the whole picture and makes sure your regimen is actually right for your labs and your risk factors, not just a standard starting dose.
"Will this affect my fertility / shrink my testicles?"
That's an important question, and exactly the kind of thing Dr. Cruz addresses in your consult. Testosterone alone can suppress natural production and fertility for some men — if having children is a priority, there are protocol options that can help preserve that. She'll tailor the plan around your goals.
"Is this just testosterone like everyone else?"
The medication is part of it — but the difference is who's behind it. You work directly with Dr. Cruz, double board-certified, 20+ years' experience. Real labs, real monitoring of hematocrit and PSA over time, a plan built around your body and your goals — not a one-size-fits-all script.

Call reminders
- Let the patient talk; listen before scripting.
- Low-T symptoms are medical, not just "part of aging" — validate, don't minimize.
- Be transparent about pricing, without apology. Pricing is subject to change — confirm with Dr. Cruz before quoting.
- Don't diagnose, dose, or promise results — that's Dr. Cruz's role.
- Flag safety items (prostate/breast cancer hx, clotting/cardiac hx, elevated hematocrit or PSA, untreated sleep apnea, CHF) but don't counsel on them.
- Always ask about fertility plans — it changes the protocol conversation Dr. Cruz will have.
- Don't promise specific reimbursement amounts.
